At the tender of age of 6-months, Lucy's career was off and running. Her first day in the conformation ring, thanks to the skilled handling of Jane & Patrick Smith, resulted in Reserve Winner's Bitch, Best Cardigan Puppy, and a Puppy Group 3 win. Her second day found her going home with Winner's Bitch, Best Opposite, and her first Major.
Two weeks later, Lucy not only passed her Herding Instinct Test, but she gave every indication of being some sort of herding prodigy, which she has lived up to so far by easily earning her Herding Tested (HT title) by her first birthday and her Pre-Trial Tested (PT Title) one month later. After taking a year off for puppies, in 2013 Lucy earned her first Herding Started (HSAs) leg with a score of 93.5 and a fourth place ribbon even though she hadn't seen livestock in four months and was in standing heat. All judges publicly commended Lucy's skill and promise.
Lucy finished her championship with a bang! She was awarded her 4th Major, Best of Winners and Best Opposite in October 2011, shortly after going Best of Breed from the classes, and less than one year after starting her quest ... with limited showing.
Lucy was handled to perfection in the conformation ring by Jane & Patrick Smith (Serah Kennels) and Angelia Hall (Whimsy Show Dogs).
Lucy was bred to CH Coedwig's Alchemist (Nugget), owned by Nancy Andrist, and whelped a beautiful litter of eight during the summer of 2012. The results can be found on our Past Litters page.
HEALTH TESTS: OFA HIPS: GOOD / OFA ELBOWS: NORMAL / DM: CARRIER (NOT AT-RISK) / PRA: CLEAR BY PARENTAGE AND CONFIRMED BY TESTING
